Year 1 students soon to face a new testing criteria in Maths

| Brainbuilder™, Courses, Local News Australia

With an ongoing debate in the education department for the declining standard of Australian students in comparison to the global standards.

The Federal Education Minister has created an “overwhelming case” for numeracy and literacy checks for all Australian Students. The new testing criteria is to ensure that students do not slip through the early developmental stages and a curative measure is taken to fix the issue.

The new assessment is going to test the reading and maths capabilities in year 1 students.

The new test is going to be in addition to the existing NAPLAN Test conducted Year 3 onwards.

At BrainBuilder, we accept students and support their Maths journey when they can read into our regular programs to build their maths skills.

At our BrainBuilder™ Holiday Program which focused on building the Higher Order Thinking Skills.

The Holiday Program focuses strongly on building critical thinking skills and the ability to creatively apply the classroom learning to real-life problems. This is done with the help of our highly skilled and trained staff who are personally trained by Dr. Fong (Singapore Maths Specialist) who makes abstract concepts understood well by students as young as Kindergarten.

We measure the success of our programs through the satisfaction of our students. Here is what some of them have to say:

“It was FUN, FUN, FUN!” – (Kindi)

“I would recommend them this Holiday Program and its awesomeness” – (Yr 4)

“I can answer faster now” – (Yr 2)

… or consider signing up to our Master Singapore Maths from Home Program, specially designed for distant learning and convenience for working parents who find it difficult to drive up to the centre.
