With the AMC, approaching on Thursday the 27th of July, the BrainBuilder learning centres are holding a series of intensive training sessions to provide students with effective problem solving strategies in preparation for the annual assessment.

Dr Fong’s maths and education expertise are reaching BrainBuilder students through our staff training sessions. Each BrainBuilder teacher has been trained personally by Dr Fong, to ensure that they are proficient with the Singapore Maths Curriculum, top in PISA and TIMSS. As the maths expertise flows from Dr Fong to our staff, BrainBuilder students are drawing on the principles of Singapore maths, including critical and creative thinking skills to take on the AMC.

The AMC is available for all students from Year 3 to Year 12 and is the largest global event on the Australian Education Calendar with more than 14 million entries since the assessment started in 1978. From this test students can start to build their academic portfolio, and depending on their results, students may be invited to participate in the Australian Intermediate Maths Olympiad. BrainBuilder students have excelled in this assessment in the past by utilisng the Singapore Maths three-step learning process; concrete, pictorial and abstract.
